We are a nationally-ranked U-18 Division 1 girls’ soccer team. Coached by Andy Stoots, we are open to girls born on or after August 1, 1992.
Since our formation in the fall of 2001, we’ve operated under three different names (not including Boca Juniors, which we had for about thirty minutes back in 2005). Since most teams tend to pick a name and stick with it, a little explanation may be in order. When we were formed, the Brentwood Soccer Club allowed teams to choose their own names, so we decided to call ourselves the Breeze. We remained the Breeze until some time around 2005, when we changed our name to the Elite (actually, the adidas Elite). The reason for the change is a little fuzzy, but I think it had something to do with moving into a new phase as a team. Anyway, about the same time, another Club team our age decided to adopt the name Premier. That Premier team stayed with the Brentwood Soccer Club only for a couple of seasons, switching clubs at the beginning of the 2007-2008 season. Then, in the summer of 2008, the Board of the Brentwood Soccer Club voted to standardize the names of its teams. From that point forward, the top team at each age level would be called the Premier, and the second team at each age level would be called the Elite. Sooooo, we are now the Brentwood Premier, f/k/a Brentwood Breeze, f/k/a Brentwood adidas Elite, but not f/k/a Brentwood Premier. Or, you can just call us Team Sybil.
In the process of all that, we managed to develop first a regional, and then a national, reputation (mostly good, we think). We have won four consecutive state championships and have advanced to the quarterfinals in three straight Region III tournaments. We are excited about the upcoming 2009-2010 season and hope to continue as the Premier the tradition we established as the Breeze and the Elite.
