The select soccer year begins August 1 of each year and runs through late May (or early June).The soccer year has three seasons – Fall, Winter and Spring. The fall season generally runs from the beginning of August through Thanksgiving. In the winter season (January through March) teams generally practice and play indoor, with many teams making winter season participation voluntary. The spring season begins in early March and runs through late May or early June, with following year try-outs held at the end of the season.

As team try-outs are generally conducted only once a year, players accepted into the Select Soccer program are expected to remain in the program through the full soccer year.
