Hans Hobson Joins Brentwood as Director of Coaching

Brentwood Soccer Club welcomes Hans Hobson as the new Director of Coaching.  Before coming to the Brentwood Soccer Club, Hans served as the Assistant Director of Coaching for the Knoxville Football Club.  Hans has coached several teams to State Championships in all 3 divisions of Tennessee Soccer. In 2002, Hans earned the “Girl’s Tennessee Coach of the Year” for his accomplishments with youth soccer. He has also served as a Staff Instructor for the Tennessee State Soccer Association, and as a Staff Coach for the Tennessee Olympic Developmental Program.
 
Hans began his coaching career in Johnson City, Tennessee where he coached club soccer for the East Tennessee Soccer Federation, and served as an Assistant Coach for the men’s and women’s programs at Milligan College (1998-2000). At Milligan College, he helped recruit former WUSA and Nigerian World Cup players Mercy Akide and Florence Omagbemi.  While serving as the Buffaloes assistant coach, the team achieved its highest national ranking ever of 12th in the Nation.  Following his time at Milligan, he served as the Women’s Assistant Coach for Carson-Newman College (2002). 
 
Hans attended Emory and Henry College where he majored in Exercise Science and Athletic Training. While playing soccer at Emory and Henry he earned honors as team MVP as well as being named an All-Conference defender and helping led his team to a national ranking. Following his playing career, Hans joined the National Soccer Coaches Association and holds an NSCAA "Premier Diploma. He has worked the last 2 years for Performance Training, Inc. where he served as a Director for one of the best Speed, Agility, and Quickness companies in the nation. 
 
Hans is originally from Martinsville, Virginia. He is engaged to be married in June 2008 to Erin Schiding, of Knoxville, Tennessee.
