Brentwood's D-I State Champions Advance at Regionals

The U17 Brentwood Real Madrid accomplished what no other girls team in Brentwood Soccer Club has ever done before.  They finished third place at the Southern Regional Championship in Oklahoma City.  After finishing as the second seed in their bracket behind the reigning North Texas State Champions, Real Madrid met the Georgia State Champions in the Quarter-finals.  Anna Fisher, Real Madrid’s lone senior and UT-Knoxville signee, scored the game winner in the first half, off of a throw-in from Susannah Dennis and the team held-on for a 1-0 victory.  The win sent Real Madrid into the semi-finals against former national champion Dallas Texans.  While the girls played great and proved a worthy opponent, they could not come back from a 2-0 halftime deficit.  Real Madrid’s excellent showing at Regionals moved them up the rankings to 7th in the nation as reported by soccerincollege.com.

The U14 Brentwood Elite also had a great run in their first ever trip to Regionals.  They also advanced as the second seed out of their bracket and faced the Premier League East Champions, Team Boca.  Playing on wet and muddy fields, Elite played a great game and held a 2-1 lead until the last few minutes of the game when Team Boca managed to tie up the game.  The game went straight to PKs and Team Boca finished one more than Elite.  Elite is currently ranked 37th in the Nation as reported by soccerincollege.com.

Congratulations to both teams!
